Disney’s Beach Club Resort With Kids: Honest Review
Disney’s Beach Club Resort is one of the Disney resorts I know best.
I spent years working here as a Concierge Cast Member, helping families plan their trips and watching a lot of Disney vacations unfold from the resort side. Because of that, Beach Club has always felt personal to me.
For a long time, actually staying here felt out of reach. It is a Disney Deluxe Resort, and the price reflects that.
Earlier this year, I finally had the chance to stay at Beach Club myself.
My kids were not with me on this specific stay, so I want to be clear about that from the beginning. But I’ve stayed at many Disney resorts with my kids, I’ve worked at Beach Club, and I know how much the layout, transportation, pool, room setup, dining, and noise level can matter when you are choosing a Disney resort for a family trip.
So this review is based on both things: what it was actually like to stay in the room myself, and how I think the resort works for families with kids.
Overall, I still love Beach Club.
The location is hard to beat, the walk to EPCOT is a huge advantage, Stormalong Bay is one of the best pool areas at Disney World, and the whole resort feels relaxed and welcoming.
But there are a few things I would want families to know before booking, especially the quick-service dining limitations, the lack of an on-site playground, and the noise I noticed from the connecting room and EPCOT fireworks.
In this review, I’ll walk through what Disney’s Beach Club Resort is like from a family travel perspective, including the room, transportation, pool, dining, layout, and the pros and cons I would think through before staying here with kids.
Is Disney’s Beach Club Resort a Good Fit With Kids?
Yes, Disney’s Beach Club Resort can be an excellent fit with kids, especially if EPCOT is a major part of your trip.
The location is the biggest reason.
Being able to walk to EPCOT in just a few minutes can completely change the flow of a Disney trip. You can go in for part of the day, come back for a break, return for dinner, or leave quickly if someone is tired. With kids, that kind of flexibility matters.
Beach Club is also a great fit if your family plans to use the pool. Stormalong Bay is one of the biggest reasons people book this resort, and it is much more than a standard hotel pool.
It’s a good fit if:
- You want to walk to EPCOT
- You want easy access to Hollywood Studios by walking path, boat, or Skyliner
- Your family plans to spend time at the pool
- You want access to Stormalong Bay
- You like being near the BoardWalk, Yacht Club, Swan, and Dolphin
- You want a Deluxe Resort that still feels relaxed with kids
- You want multiple transportation options
- You like having character breakfast, ice cream, and resort dining nearby
It might not be the best fit if:
- You want the most budget-friendly Disney resort option
- You need a strong quick-service food court
- You want an on-site playground
- Your kids are very sensitive to fireworks noise
- You are worried about thin walls or connecting-room noise
- Magic Kingdom is the main focus of your trip
- You do not plan to use the pool or take advantage of the EPCOT-area location
For me, Beach Club is worth considering because the location is so strong.
The room was not perfect, and the quick-service setup was not my favorite. But being able to walk to EPCOT, access Stormalong Bay, and stay in that whole Crescent Lake area gives this resort a major advantage for families.
If your trip is centered around EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, pool time, and easy stroller-friendly movement, Beach Club can make a lot of sense.
Location and Layout: The EPCOT Area Is the Biggest Advantage
Disney’s Beach Club Resort is located in the EPCOT resort area, along Crescent Lake.
This is easily one of the biggest advantages of staying here.
Beach Club is right next to Disney’s Yacht Club Resort and connected to Disney’s Beach Club Villas. It is also across the water from Disney’s BoardWalk, and you are within walking distance of the Swan and Dolphin.
That whole area gives you a lot nearby without needing to get on a bus.
The biggest perk is EPCOT.
Beach Club is the closest Disney resort to EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance. You can walk from the resort to EPCOT in just a few minutes, which can completely change how your park day feels with kids.
Instead of treating EPCOT like a full-day production, you can go in for part of the day, leave for a break, come back for dinner, or make a quick exit if someone is tired or melting down.
That kind of flexibility is one of the reasons I love this resort.
The layout of the resort itself also feels manageable. Beach Club is a Deluxe Resort, but it does not feel massive in the same way some spread-out Disney resorts do. The lobby, dining, pool, transportation, and walking paths all felt fairly easy to navigate.
The overall feel is relaxed and coastal. It is pretty without feeling overly formal, and it has a family-friendly energy that makes sense for Disney.
The one thing I would keep in mind is that Beach Club shares a lot of the area’s amenities with Yacht Club and Beach Club Villas, including Stormalong Bay. That is a huge perk, but it can also make the pool area feel busy because it is such a popular feature.
Still, from a location standpoint, Beach Club is one of the strongest Disney resorts for families, especially if EPCOT and Hollywood Studios are priorities.
Transportation: One of the Easiest Disney Resorts for Getting Around
Transportation is one of the biggest reasons I would consider Beach Club with kids.
You can walk to EPCOT in just a few minutes.
You can also walk to Hollywood Studios if your family is up for it. It is a longer walk than EPCOT, but it is stroller-friendly and can be a really nice option if you would rather move at your own pace instead of waiting for transportation.
There are also Friendship Boats that run between the EPCOT resort area, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios. These are helpful if you do not want to walk the full distance to Hollywood Studios or if you just want a slower transportation option.
The Skyliner station is outside EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance, so you can also access the Skyliner from this area. That opens up easy connections to nearby Skyliner resorts like Riviera, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, and Art of Animation.
For Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, and the water parks, you will use buses.
But compared to a resort where buses are your only option, Beach Club gives you a lot more flexibility.
That matters with kids.
If you have a stroller, being able to walk to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios means you can avoid folding the stroller, loading onto a bus, and managing everyone in a crowded transportation line. For me, that is a huge part of what makes Beach Club appealing from a family logistics perspective.
If Magic Kingdom is the main focus of your trip, Beach Club may not feel as convenient as a monorail resort.
But if your trip includes a lot of EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, pool time, or dining around the BoardWalk area, the transportation setup here is one of the best at Disney World.
The Room: Spacious and Comfortable, With a Few Family Logistics to Know
I stayed in a Resort View room at Disney’s Beach Club Resort.
The room had 2 queen beds and a fold-down daybed, which means it can sleep up to 5 people. That setup means Beach Club can work well for families who need more sleeping space without booking a suite.
Overall, the room felt spacious, clean, and comfortable.
Compared to many Value and Moderate resort rooms, it felt noticeably larger and easier to move around in. It had the bright, coastal feel Beach Club is known for, and I liked the overall layout.
There was also a small walk-out balcony. It was not really large enough to sit outside and relax, but I still liked being able to open the door and get some fresh air into the room.

That said, there were a few things I noticed that would matter to me if my kids were staying with me.
The bathroom felt a little more outdated than I expected for the price point. It had clearly been updated at some point, but the tub and fixtures still felt older than I expected from a Deluxe Resort.
The full bathtub would be helpful with young kids, but the sliding glass shower door made the setup feel a little awkward. If I were bathing my kids there, I think it would have been harder to reach in comfortably than it is with a standard shower curtain.
The biggest issue for me was the noise.
I was in a connecting room, and I could hear a lot from the family next door. Their baby woke me up more than once, and the EPCOT fireworks were loud enough to wake me from a deep sleep.
Since my kids usually go to bed before fireworks, that is something I would think about before staying here with young children.
This would not stop me from booking Beach Club, but I would be prepared. If your kids are light sleepers, you may want to bring a sound machine and think carefully about your room requests.
Overall, I liked the room. It was spacious, comfortable, and worked well for my stay. But for the Deluxe price point, I did notice a few details that made it feel less perfect than I expected.
What It Actually Feels Like to Stay at Disney’s Beach Club Resort
Beach Club feels relaxed, bright, and very easy to settle into.
Some Deluxe Resorts can feel a little formal with kids, but Beach Club does not feel that way to me. It has a soft, coastal feel, and the whole resort feels welcoming without being too quiet or serious.
That is one of the things I like most about it.
It feels like a Deluxe Resort, but not in a way that makes you nervous about kids being kids.
The lobby is pretty, the location is excellent, and the Crescent Lake area gives you so much within walking distance. You can walk to EPCOT, head over to the BoardWalk, take the boat, get ice cream, visit nearby resorts, or just spend time around the pool.
For families, that kind of flexibility is a big deal.
Beach Club does not feel like a resort where you are stuck waiting for transportation every time you want to do something. There is a lot right around you, and that makes the whole stay feel easier.
Pool and Activities: Stormalong Bay Is the Main Event
The main pool area at Beach Club is Stormalong Bay, and it is one of the biggest reasons families book this resort.
It is not a regular hotel pool.
Stormalong Bay feels more like a mini water park, with a sand-bottom pool, lazy river, whirlpool areas, shallow spaces, and a large shipwreck slide. For kids who love pool time, this can easily become one of the highlights of the trip.
When I stayed here, I spent time floating in the lazy river, which is basically my ideal pool activity. If my kids had been with me, I know they would have loved the sandy-bottom areas and the places where they could play at the edge of the water.
That said, Stormalong Bay is also big and spread out.
For some families, that is part of the fun. For others, especially with toddlers or multiple young kids, it may require more attention than a smaller, simpler pool. I would not treat it like a basic resort pool where you can easily see the whole area from one chair.
It is an amazing pool, but it is still something I would plan for with little kids.

Beach Club also has quieter pools if you want something more low-key. There are pools at Beach Club, Yacht Club, and Beach Club Villas, which can be helpful if Stormalong Bay feels too busy or you just want a simpler swim.
There are also regular resort activities, including things like campfires, Movies Under the Stars, poolside games, and bike rentals around the Crescent Lake area.
The biggest thing missing for me is an on-site playground.
If you have followed me for a while, you know my kids love playgrounds, and I really notice when a resort does not have one. Beach Club has plenty for families to do, but if you have young kids who need a simple place to climb, run, and burn off energy outside the pool, this is worth knowing.
You can walk over to the Swan and Dolphin area to find a playground, but it is not right at Beach Club.
Dining: Great Nearby Options, But Quick Service Is Limited
Beach Club has some excellent dining options, but the overall food situation is a little mixed.
The biggest strength is that you are not limited to only Beach Club.
Because of the location, you can easily walk to Yacht Club, the BoardWalk, Swan, Dolphin, and EPCOT. That gives you a lot of dining options without needing to take a bus or rideshare anywhere.
At Beach Club itself, Cape May Cafe is the main table-service option.
Cape May Cafe offers a character breakfast, and I think it is one of the best character meals at Disney World. It does not feel as loud or chaotic as some of the bigger character dining experiences, which can be nice with kids.
They also have a seafood buffet at dinner, which is truly very good.
Beaches & Cream Soda Shop is another Beach Club classic. It has an old-school soda shop feel, and it is a fun option if you want burgers, fries, ice cream, or the famous Kitchen Sink sundae. There is also a walk-up window for ice cream, which is one of my favorite things to do with my kids when we are in the area.
Where Beach Club falls short for me is quick service.
Beach Club Marketplace felt more limited than I expected, especially for a Deluxe Resort. There were some grab-and-go items and quick meals, but it did not feel like a full food court where you have a lot of easy choices for different people.
That matters more with kids.
Sometimes you just need a quick breakfast, a simple lunch, or an easy meal you can eat without turning it into a whole dining event. At Beach Club, that felt a little harder than I expected.
The seating setup was also not my favorite for quick meals.
There are nearby seating areas, like the solarium, but they feel more like places to relax than places to sit and eat with kids. The chairs are lower, and the setup does not feel as practical for meals. There is some outdoor seating near the Marketplace, but that depends a lot on the weather.
So while I love Beach Club overall, I would plan ahead for food.
If you want sit-down meals, ice cream, character breakfast, or access to the wider EPCOT resort area, the dining situation is strong. If you want an easy food court-style setup for quick meals with kids, Beach Club may feel limited.
Disney’s Beach Club Resort With Kids: Pros and Cons
What I loved:
- Beach Club is one of the closest Disney resorts to EPCOT
- You can walk to EPCOT in just a few minutes
- You can walk, boat, or use Skyliner access for Hollywood Studios
- The Crescent Lake area gives you easy access to Yacht Club, BoardWalk, Swan, and Dolphin
- Stormalong Bay is one of the best pool areas at Disney World
- The resort feels relaxed and family-friendly
- The room felt spacious and comfortable
- Some rooms can sleep up to 5 people
- Cape May Cafe is a calmer character breakfast option
- Beaches & Cream is a fun, easy dining option
- There are a lot of dining choices nearby
- The transportation options are excellent if EPCOT and Hollywood Studios are priorities
What I didn’t love:
- Beach Club is expensive
- The room felt slightly outdated in some areas for the price
- The bathroom setup could be awkward for bathing little kids
- The walls felt thin, especially in a connecting room
- EPCOT fireworks may be loud if your kids go to bed early
- The quick-service options felt limited
- The quick-service seating setup was not ideal for meals with young kids
- There is no on-site playground
- Stormalong Bay is amazing, but it is large and may require extra attention with toddlers
- If Magic Kingdom is your main focus, Beach Club is not as convenient as a monorail resort
Is Disney’s Beach Club Resort Worth It With Kids?
Yes, I think Disney’s Beach Club Resort is absolutely worth it with kids, especially if EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and pool time are a big part of your trip.
This is not a budget-friendly Disney resort, and I do think there are a few things families should know before booking. The quick-service dining is limited, there is no on-site playground, and the room felt a little more outdated in some areas than I expected for the price.
But the location is hard to beat.
Being able to walk to EPCOT in just a few minutes is a huge advantage with kids. You can go in for part of the day, leave when someone needs a break, come back for dinner, or avoid a long transportation process at the end of the night.
The access to Hollywood Studios is also a major perk. You can walk, take the Friendship boat, or use the Skyliner from the International Gateway area.
And then there is Stormalong Bay.
If your family loves pool time, Beach Club offers one of the best pool areas at Disney World. It is big, fun, and more like a mini water park than a standard hotel pool.
For me, Beach Club is one of those resorts where the strengths are strong enough to outweigh the downsides.
I would plan ahead for food, bring a sound machine if your kids are light sleepers, and remember that the pool may require close supervision with younger kids. But if the price makes sense for your trip, Beach Club can be an excellent Disney resort with kids.
I still love this resort, and from a family logistics perspective, the location alone makes it one of the easiest Deluxe Resorts to recommend.
